Tui Na massage is a simple yet very effective division of traditional chinese medicine which has been practised and used in China for thousands of years. Tui Na massage is closely related to acupuncture in its use of the meridian system and is considered to be effective for a similar range of health problems.
Tui Na massage methods include the use of hand techniques to massage the soft tissue (muscles and tendons) of the body, acupressure techniques to directly affect the flow of Qi and manipulation techniques to realign the musculoskeletal and ligamentons relationships seeking to establish a more harmonious flow of Qi through the system of channels and collaterals, allowing the body to naturally heal itself.
Tui Na massage is well suited for the treatment of specific musculoskeletal disorders and chronic stress related disorders of the digestive, respiratory and reproductive systems particularly necj, shoulder, back pain, sciatica, muscle spasms, tennis and golfer elbow, frozen shoulder, joint pain (including arthritis). It is unsurpassed in the treatment of sports injuries and will aid chronic conditions such as headaches, migraines, constipation, insomnia, tension and a restless mind. It also works at a deeper level, affecting the flow of vital life - energy in the body being a preventative treatment, correcting any imbalances in the body's energy before symptoms and disease can develop. Also works to restore emotional and intellectual harmony as well as physical health.
Tui Na massage is one of the primary ways that Chines treat babies and young children. The points and channels used are quite different to the standard ones.
